Preventative versus reactive

Routine inspection
Scheduled checks of mechanical condition, terminations, earthing, battery state and control cabinet integrity.

Battery condition
The backup battery gives up to 48 hours of operation without auxiliary supply, but capacity falls with age and temperature. A battery nobody has checked is a single point of failure.

Firmware and configuration
Keeping control firmware current, and re-applying or adjusting protection settings when the network around the device changes.

Performance assessment
Reviewing operating and fault records to see how the device has actually behaved, rather than assuming it has been idle.

Fault finding
Diagnosing why a device misoperated or failed to operate, using its own records plus site testing.

Breakdown support
Emergency support when equipment has failed and supply is affected.
Equipment we did not supply
We maintain and support Magvatech equipment, and we can look at recloser and switchgear installations from other manufacturers as well. If you have equipment that is misoperating, out of support, or that nobody has inspected in years, tell us what is installed and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people to help.
